Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 8 + years’ experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area.
- People management, planning, and fostering teamwork. Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative approach.
- Ability to give feedback and provide excellent customer service.
- Self-motivated with high energy levels and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Conflict resolution and strong verbal communication skills.
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, and varied schedules.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; spoken Cantonese is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional knowledge of food and beverages, with prior experience in restaurant or hotel settings.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Banquet Manager or Banquet Supervisor is preferred.
- Experienced with Seven Rooms, Aspen and Shiji POS system is a plus.
Job Duties
- A self-starter with a strong passion for hospitality, good interpersonal skills, enjoys working with people and engaging with our members and organizers.
- To uphold and honor the Club’s vibrant culture with genuine team spirit, dedication, and respect. Build and develop strong relationships with all members, Board of Governors (BOG), and Committee members.
- Supervises and work closely with the banquet employees to ensure optimal performance, member and guest experience, appearance, and attendance. Maintain strong relationships with the kitchen and chefs, ensuring effective communication with back-of-house (BOH) teams.
- Processes checklists to ensure successful operations and complete End of Day Reports and checks DAS for accuracy.
- Ensurse punctuality of team members and adequate staffing levels for each event. Notify the Manager or Director of Food & Beverage (DoF&B) of any staffing shortfalls due to sick leave, non-arrivals, or lateness. Supervises casual support labor.
- Maintain exceptional service standards that meet and exceed member expectations. Follow the banquet standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assists in training and refreshing the team on these protocols.
- Supervises service delivery to ensure excellent service quality.
- Complete administrative and operational tasks in a timely manner while consistently seeking ways to improve business and service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager or Management Team. From time to time, the Assistant Banquet Manager may work to support clubhouses or outlets as the operation demands.
